Remove offline unit from Google Home app

Hi,

I have three Harman Kardon Citation speakers connected to my mesh home wifi. I keep having problems with two of the speakers going offline and not showing up in the Google Home app  (or other connected apps such as Spotify) form time to time, even though they're positioned right next to the wifi nodes. Sometimes, the issue has resolved itself through restarting the wifi and speakers, but sometimes I have had to reset and reconfigure my speakers as new units.

This leads me to the question: When I configure a speaker as a new unit, the old unit (meaning the same speaker) does not disappear from Google Home. I have tried to remove the old unit manually, but I can't since the unit settings are unavailable from the app when the app thinks the unit is offline. How do I remove a unit that is offline?

Try making a new home, move those speakers to that new home. Now delete the new home.

Hi,

Thanks kitguy2112 and Azarco for the replies! My speakers suddenly went online again before I could try the suggested fix, but I will definitely try it next time! Seems like there should be some easier workaround, but I haven't found any, and if this works next time I'll be very happy. Thanks again!
