I just purchased a Nest Protect Smoke/CO detector. I'm following the instructions to set it up and I have to download/install the Nest app on my phone. Easy enough. When I log in with my Google account I keep getting told unable to log in try again later. This has been going on for about 5 days now. This morning it allowed me to log in, attempt to add my house and once I verified my address it started back over as though I'd never added my house. Now I can't log back in. I have the Google Home app for a smart speaker but I've never had a Nest account to migrate. If I try to add the detector using Google Home it prompts me to log into the Nest app to set up my house. So it's a circle with no end. Anyone have insight before I return this product?

Being told to login later sounds odd.

As far as I can tell from other posts, Google Home does NOT support Nest Protect.

Hi everyone,
@cugrad99, thanks for reaching out here in the Community. Adding your Nest Protect to the Nest app shouldn't be a problem. I would recommend you reinstall your Nest app and if your account is not yet migrated, select the "Sign in with Nest" option on the login page. Just a reminder, the Nest Protect can only connect to the 2.4Ghz bandwidth of the internet. Let us know how it goes.
I appreciate your response, MplsCustomer, jrg167 and MikeClark.
Best,
Emerson
