Unlink nest account from google home

Hello,

I mistakenly set up google home and created a new nest account instead of linking google home to my existing nest account. Now when I try to migrate my real nest account to google home it does not let me do that because my google home account is already linked to a nest account. How do I fix this?

Hey there rottamdavidson,

I'm sorry about the delayed response, I appreciate your patience! Did you link a new Nest account with your current Google account? According to the Nest App Migration FAQ, "Migration is optional, and once completed, is not reversible, so it’s important to understand the changes that migration will bring before you start." So, I'm sorry to say once the account is migrated over, it cannot be undone, unfortunately. The alternative would be to migrate that real Nest account with a different Google account instead.
