appname confusion with YouTube channel name

I have an app on my Chromecast with Google TV called Sportsnet.

If I use the Chromecast remote assistant, I can say "Watch Sportsnet" and it correctly switches to the correct App.

The Chromecast is connected to my Google Home network.

If I say "Hey Google, Watch Sportsnet on Bedroom TV", it says Fine, but switched to the YouTube Sportsnet channel, which is NOT what I want.  How do I get it to select the App name in preference to YouTube?

Hey there gddeluca,

I apologize about the late response on this, thank you for being patient! Were you able to figure out that Assistant issue? If not, I'd recommend that you submit feedback via the Google TV app so that Google can look at improving the Assistant's capabilities. While Google doesn't respond directly back to you, they take all submitted feedback seriously.

I'm sorry I couldn't have been more help, but if you have any other questions or concerns for me, please let me know.

Best regards,
Jeran

Did not resolve this, I've just given up on voice commands for the Nest/Chromecast/TV combination, nothing works consistently. (We have a Nest speaker sitting right under the TV screen.)

e.g. a lot of the time Nest Assistant, replying to "Turn on the Bedroom TV" just says "Sorry, the TV is not available". Sometimes this works perfectly, usually not.  Yet the Next, the TV and Chromecast are also all powered on and respond to other voice commands and the Chromecast remote works normally (Including voice commands through the remote)

This is all very frustrating and asking for help usually devolves into "Please reset all your devices", "Sign back on", "Try aaa or bbb" etc..  This stuff is just supposed to WORK, not need constant fiddling and babysitting. Switching to Alexa is looking more and more attractive.

Hey there gddeluca,

I'm really sorry to hear that your experience with the Assistant has been less than ideal. When it comes to Google Assistant issues, submitting feedback is the best course of action. That way, Google is aware of what issues the Assistant is having, and they can look at updating the Google Home and Assistant capabilities and ironing out those problems. I understand your frustration, as I have had my own experiences with the Assistant being stubborn as well, and I have submitted my own feedback about those issues in the past.

I'm sorry I couldn't have been more help, but if you had any other questions or concerns, I'd be happy to address them.

Best regards,

Jeran
