brand new nest home max will not stream lorex web cams. Same web cams do stream to google home app on samsung s22 phone.
Web cams appear in nest max. No error message or anything when selected to stream. Just says "Lorex camera"

if you are in the window for returning the Max, I would. I wanted to share my experience with you. the screen on my Max suddenly blurred and google basically told me to buy a new one (not cheap). I would 100% return it and go with an amazon 15 - cheaper and WAY more features. good luck!

Hi folks,
Thanks for posting in the community. Let's sort this out.
@johnwilliamhoff, are you able to control this on the native app? Could you provide the exact model of the camera? Also, you can follow the steps below on how to link Lorex cameras on the Google Home app. Keep me posted.
@Jimmy_J, I understand where you're coming from and I'm we're sad to see you go. We'll definitely take this as feedback — we'll ensure to learn from it to be able to deliver a better experience in the future.
Best,
Nikki

Yes, as I stated in original post.. works fine on my samsung s22+ using google home app..
Lorex LNB8921B web cam does not display on the max. It does in home app on phone.
Yes, I have integrated the lorex and works with.. All 4 web cams are in my home/room in max.

Hi all,
Apologies for the late response.
A few questions: when you set up your Lorex cameras, are they connected to a 2.4ghz, 5ghz or dual band router? For us to isolate the issue if this is device or network issue. Could you try setting up the Nest Hub Max using a hotspot? You will be needing two mobile devices, one will work as the set up and the other one as the router. Once the device is connected to the hotspot, link the Lorex camera and see if it streams the camera on the Nest Hub Max.
Keep me posted.
Best,
Nikki

My Lorex is hard wired to a deco dual band router. The google nest hub is connected wirelessly at 5ghz.
When I asked the google nest hub to display a certain camera. The actual lorex system does respond by changing to that camera (when you check on its local monitor). However the stream that loads on the Google nest hub just says "lorex camera".
This would lead one to believe that it is communicating over the network fine. However the stream is somehow unable to play.
I can attempt to connect the google nest hub max to a mobile hotspot. I will report back when I do.

Just connected my nest hub max to my mobile hot spot. Same result.
Not a network problem.

Hi folks,
I know it feels when something isn't working . I'll be needing to get more information for us to find a resolution.
@johnwilliamhoff, could you please fill out the form and let me know once done?
@beejay & @nuch143, could you send us a feedback by saying "Okay Google, send feedback", followed by "GHT3 unable to stream lorex webcam". Let me know once done.
Best,
Nikki

I have a dual band router. Nest Hub Max still does not work with supported Lorex cameras even when using a hotspot or other network. This is not a network issue. My phone on Wi-fi or cellular networks using the Google Home app can see all my Lorex cameras. The Nest Hub Max is the problem. Perhaps a firmware update?
01-29-2023 05:41 AM
I agree this is a FW issue on the Nest Home device. Google Home App on Phone using same WIFI NW works just fine.
01-29-2023 06:26 AM
I agree as well. Moreso I think it's a codec playback issue. Through email I'm going through "reset" type troubleshooting.
Nowhere close to solving this. Been patient for a couple months but I'm not impressed with how Google is handling this. Very easy to put compatible with Google on everything then not support it.

4 identical cameras are all hardwired. I recently added a new wifi camera that has voice/speaker capability. It works on the phone and the nest. While the original 4 without audio only work on the android phone in the Google Home App. I am now suspecting the issue on Nest has to do with no audio capability on the web cam. Is that plausible.

My nest cams do not have audio as well.
Perhaps a codec issue?
(edited, thanks for the correction)
01-25-2023 03:50 AM
Yours work? Your description is identical to mine. "lorex camera" is all I see on the hub with the non-audio cams.. The cams with audio display fine.
01-25-2023 04:06 AM
Thanks for correcting me. I was wrong.
You are saying the lack of audio is culprit.
Mine do not have audio and don't work.
You are correct. My bad.

I have the same issue with my Lorex NVR not streaming on my google nest device that has been posted a few times recently with no solution offered. I believe this post is the best one showing the same issue as I'm having.
Could you please offer me the same solution as the author was given via "email"?
01-03-2023 08:04 AM
@altenbach did you solve this?
01-03-2023 08:16 AM
I was NOT give any solution by e-mail. It was just acknowledged that there was communication outside this forum.
The problem still exists and I sure hope that Lorex and Google compare notes and can eventually find a solution.
01-03-2023 08:52 AM
@altenbach brutal. I was hoping it was fixed.
Sad Nest closes out tickets in this forum without actually posting a solution.
01-03-2023 11:07 AM
@Arsenal666 or @jroel have either of you solved this issue? Noticed both your posts were closed out.
01-03-2023 11:10 AM
@johnwilliamhoff has the same problem.

Please don't close out this thread, unless we report back that the "form" actually created a solution.

No do not close this thread. My email communication has not resulted in a solution.

Same problem here with no resolution. Cameras viewable on Google Home App via Samsung S22, but will not stream on Nest Hub. Only displays "Lorex Camera" when attempting to view. My Lorex NVR is listed as fully supported.

Thanks. This definitely needs to be solved on the Nest (not Lorex!) side, because of the legal issues when enabling audio recording as I outlined here. Your devices need to be able to play video that does not have audio. In many locations, it is illegal to enable audio recording on security cameras!

Hey folks,
I'm checking in on this thread since it's been a while since it was last updated. There's no new news to share at this time, but I'll continue monitoring the thread and updating it as I know more.
Cheers,

Is my impression correct? If a community user doesn't solve the issue the issue will remain unresolved? Or is nests team actually doing something?
