I installed 2 x 2nd generation doorbell cameras which work just fine, but now my normal mechanical front / back door chime doorbell does not ring ….I have a 40 VA transformer

@Maeve

If you have two 2nd Generation Google Nest Doorbells as well as a conventional doorbell, you need to be careful how you've wired the doorbells.

Each of the 2nd Generation Google Nest Doorbells needs a "chime puck" that is wired correctly. Google Nest does not seem to have a wiring diagram for 3 doorbells, but the link below has a diagram for 2 Nest doorbells connected to one chime (it is incorrectly labeled "Two Nest doorbells, two chimes"):

I’m using a 40 MV transformer and my outside nest cameras are lit up and functioning properly ….making controllable doorbell noises outdoors when pushed, but nothing indoors

the doorbells worked before I installed the camera…front and rear . Seems odd, no yellow lights, and iPad easily controls them remotely

@Maeves

So the "chime pucks" are wired correctly and the "Indoor chime" option is enabled on both doorbells? Sorry if this is asking you the obvious; nothing else jumps out at me.

I want to thank the customers who advised me on the installation of the two Nest doorbells and I want to chastise Google / Nest for not publishing proper information or having actual tech support phone number to call.

the problem was lack of amperage to drive the 2 nest doorbells as well as the 2 door chimes

i replaced the one unknown amp transformer with 2 x 40 MA transformers …separately wired, and its now all set.

I remember actual customer service vs service provided by customers …..

again, thank you customers

If you have two 2nd Gen Google Nest Doorbells as well as a conventional doorbell, you want to be sure everything is wired correctly.

Google Nest does not seem to have a sample diagram for three doorbells, but it does have a diagram for 2 doorbells on 1 chime in the topic below; the diagram is incorrectly labeled "Two Nest doorbells, two chimes":

Since I have 2 doorbells, I’m going to wire a second transformer as I suspect the single transformer is having a problem with the load of 2 bells and 2 nest cams …..I’ll update in a few days
