2nd gen wired doorbell will not connect

I I got a second gen wired doorbell and was setting it up today. I do not have an existing doorbell and bought the power pack from the Google Store to use as my Transformer.

I followed the directions on this page (https://support.google.com/googlenest/answer/9334421 ) for setting up without a chime using the S2dio Indoor Power Adapter for Nest Doorbell (wired).

It powers on and I get a blue dot. After a few minutes it fades lighter then brighter. I have done a factory reset. I dismounted the doorbell, brought it inside, and sat it right beside my nest indoor camera that's working fine. I confirmed that my cell phone and the camera are on the same network. I only have one but I double checked anyways. I have turned it off and on again several times by unplugging the S2dio adapter. I thought maybe it's a little wire clips on the power adapter had a short. I clipped them off  and directly wired it to the device.

I'm at my wits end as I have no idea what to do nest. I I don't get any lights that are a ring just the dot at the top that starts white, turns blue, and then pulses. It never really blinks as it doesn't actually go black just lighter blue.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

Thought I'd update here incase anyone else has this issue. I needed to turn off my cellular data. First I put my Samsung Galaxy into airplane mode. Se ond I turned the wifi back on. The Home app prompted me to choose my network again and to use my saved password to sign in. Then everything connected and updated normally.

Sorry for the typos 🙂 if it matters, I also rebooted my router and moved it all into the same room. 😔

The doorbell status light is supposed to pulse blue when it is ready to connect:

What exactly happens when you try to install the doorbell in the Google Home app?

It stays on the connecting screen until it says it failed. It gives me the option to try again. Try again repeats the process of waiting several minutes until it fails again. I've done it at least ten times while troubleshooting.

That's not much to go on if you're stalled there. You could try contacting Support (https://support.google.com/googlenest/gethelp). Maybe you have a defective doorbell or adapter. The "S2dio Indoor Power Adapter" is different from the "Ninety7 Indoor Power Adapter" that used to be listed on the Google Store.

Thanks for trying to help. Have a great day!
