3 Hello door bells

billkater
Community Member

Hello,

I am preparing to install some new hello nest door bells. I am going to install 3 of them. Can all 3 be hooked to the same inside chime? If so, is there a wiring diagram for this type install?

My chime has 3 connections for the wires.

1. Front

2. Trans

3. Back

Thanks for any help.

@billkater

If you have 3 doorbells but wiring terminals for just "Front" and "Back", are two of your doorbells currently doubled up on either "Front" or "Back"? If so, perhaps you could use the wiring diagram for 2 Google Nest Hello Doorbells / 1 chime found on the post below. I haven't seen a diagram for 3 doorbells.

This post below has wiring diagrams for the new 2nd gen Google Nest Doorbell, if that's what you are getting.  The diagram for 2 doorbells / 1 chime is mislabeled "Two Nest doorbells, two chimes"::

Hi everyone,

@billkater thanks for posting and I understand your concern about installing 3 Nest doorbells. You may follow this wiring diagram:

To know more about Nest doorbell compatibility, just hit this link.

Keep me posted.

@MplsCustomer I appreciate your response.

@EmersonB

Your diagram is for the 4-wire Chime Connector for the older Google Nest Hello Doorbell, and NOT for the 2-wire Chime Puck for the new 2nd gen Google Nest Doorbell.

In addition, this customer does not have 3 doorbell posts (front, rear, side) on their chime; they have just 2 (front, rear), even though they have 3 doorbells.  So 2 of the doorbells must be sharing either the "front" or "rear" post, I think.

I wired my doorbells per the 2 doorbell diagram. I then tapped into the rear doorbell wires and added a third doorbell. Seems to be working so far
