Any way to get previous video without subscription

Hey all - I'm just here trying to help my neighbor out. I recently moved to a new townhouse. The previous owner had a nest hello doorbell that I inherited.  I had taken the rudimentary steps of factory resetting it, and linking to it.  But I haven't yet setup any kind of nest subscription service or anything.  Well - a few days ago, at around 3AM, someone broke into my neighbor's house, stole their car and a bunch of other possessions.  My doorbell is well positioned to have captured video of the thief, but it doesn't appear I have history of that event, possibly because I don't have a subscription? (I'm used to arlo cameras, which capture all events, and I'm not yet accustomed to nest).  I'm just wondering if there's any way to see the video feed from that night? Possibly it's captured somewhere even if I don't have a subscription? Or - if I setup a subscription now, could I gain access to previous days of video. If it's not possible to recover, that would be a bummer for me and also my neighbor, but either way I'd like to understand how video capture works, what is captured, what is not, and what I get from a subscription.

 

Any help anyone can offer is greatly appreciate. Thanks!

Sorry, but I do not believe the Nest Protect service is retroactive.

I'm pretty much 100% sure the video does not exist.  If you don't have the subscription activated then they would be breaking all sorts of privacy laws if they were recording your camera.

Sorry for my late response. Thank you for all of your patience while waiting for a reply. I just wanted to make sure that your issue is addressed. MrVacca, and mdr2 are definitely correct. That would not be possible. I am terribly sorry for this inconvenience, but we cannot assist you as unless you have a Nest Aware subscription, no video is saved whatsoever. Please let me know if you have further questions.
