Are 1st gen and 2nd gen cameras compatible with my nest aware account and can I use them together

I have 3 1st gen drop down cameras that I purchased in 2018. I use a nest aware account thru google. I am looking to add 3 more cameras to our system and am wondering if I purchase 3 2nd gen cameras, will they be compatible with the 1st gen cameras in my nest aware account.

They will be compatible but be aware that the 2nd generation cameras are whole new beasts and have quite different features.

You also have to use the Google Home application to see these newer cameras.

It also depends on whether you have a 1st gen Nest Aware subscription (which is priced per camera and ONLY applies to 1st gen cameras and doorbells) or a Nest Aware or Nest Aware Plus subscription (available since 2019 or 2020, requires the Google Home app, and applies to all cameras and doorbells in the same Google Nest "home/structure". We have a Nest Aware Plus subscription (since 2020), and it covers our 1st gen and 2nd gen cameras.

We access camera history in the Google Nest app for our 1st gen cameras and doorbells, and in the Google Home app for our 2nd gen cameras.

Until such time (now waiting 2+ years)  that the Google Home app has all the features of the NEST app I will keep using buying used Gen 1 cams from Ebay sellers.    But I'm looking forward to the day Google makes this happen.  I would also love to see a  new line of Gen 3 cams that do 2K and 4K.... but that is just a wish list at this point.
