Black screen when streaming

Mark45

The nest hub states that it is currently streaming the camera feed and is "live", but is only showing a black screen with no audio.

Nest Hub just shows a black screen but camera works fine in the app. If I open the app then the feed shows on the hub fine.

Hi Mark45,

Thanks for reaching out.

I appreciate all the details you've shared. Have you already tried performing a complete reboot to your devices? I suggest we try first to unplug both your Google Nest Hub and router from the power source for at least a few minutes. That way, it would refresh your network settings and avoid congestion on your network. After a few minutes, plug it back again and see if this would make any changes on its behavior.

Let me know how it goes.

Best,

Princess

Thanks, Princess.

I have tried powering off and even factory resetting it and the camera.

If I have the feed open on my phone when asking it to stream on the display it works.

Any update for me?

Hey Mark45, there’s a similar thread on the same issue. They posted a form link and I’ve been corresponding with the customer care team. So far just restart and factory reset everything… no change. Clearly a software bug affecting many people.

I’ve had the same issue. The live video feed goes black randomly. Same behaviour with 3 different Nest Hubs. But no problem streaming on the Home app on my iPad.
