I have several nest cameras all setup and working. I can view them live from my Pc but whenever I try on my iPhone, I just get the blue spinning circle about 80% of the time.
occasionally I open the app and everything works correctly. I put the app on my wife’s iPhone and it does exactly the same thing.
it seems to have started in the past month. Prior to this everything worked fine but this is really frustrating. Have been waiting for some type of software update for the app but those seem to be few and far between lately.
is this a known issue or is there a configuration change I can make to solve the problem?

Controlled phaseout of the nest app by google. All iPhone users have it. Yet if you open the google home app, no issues. Yet the app is useless, can’t download or scrub. Nothing IOS users can do as Google is well aware yet does nothing

Is this confirmed or just opinion?
I would like to send this to google for support and try to get it fixed if this is the case. Have noticed there are no updates for the app anymore but why would they want to get rid of it?

Google is already aware. This sight and twitter and littered with users who have the same issue. It’s a server based software bug that came about after the last nest update. Like my previous post, it’s not a concern to them. Notice no android users seem to have issues. Google created android and nest was created by a former employee of apple. I’m sure you can do the math. If you open a ticket they will give you a canned response usually saying wow that’s new. Have you done this don’t that? Ok let me get back to you

I had exactly this. "we will get back to you within 24 hours". Two weeks later.... Nothing!

Hey folks,
Thank you for your feedback on this issue, I fully understand the frustrations of not having your new Nest Cams in the Nest App or available on https://bit.ly/3HtBgJC web app. I can imagine having to use two different apps at the moment is quite daunting, and could lead to frustration.
However, the new Nest cameras and doorbell are exclusive to the Home app because we wanted to create an integrated experience with your speakers and displays. A Nest Aware subscription applies to all of your cameras, speakers, and displays in the same home structure. Thank you for your continued patience, and support. I am more than happy to assist you further with this inquiry if you wish. Please let me know.
Best Regards,
Brad.

Brad, we all very much appreciate your input and support on here. But please as someone who doesn’t work for Google, don’t post their generic drink the coolade statements. Your post is a verbatim statement used by Google everywhere and it’s all just lip service.

Hi Brad, I’m afraid neither of the alternatives is up to the task. The browser app shows highlights but doesn’t allow anyway to scrub through the footage and it’s very easy to miss something. The Google home app is even worse. It doesn’t allow anything other than live viewing of my cameras. I really can’t believe Google would be forcing people onto this app until they improve the functionality. It’s very annoying to be paying a subscription for something that’s not working.

Same exact issue. For about a month now

Glad I found this forum. My wife and I are having this same issue and we both have iPhones. We have tried everything to get his app to work on a consistent basis, but no luck. I have no issues viewing the camera on my PC.
Now I see that it was all in vain. Google has struck again.
If not fixed soon it looks like I'll be changing to Ring.

Same here. Just spins and nothing. Preview works and that’s it. We pay for this service that doesn’t work. Total bull**bleep**

Same issue but with all apps, google home and nest. This hadn't happened at all until the last app / software update. Streaming the camera only works constantly on my home hub. Pretty poor if Google are aware yet doing nothing.

Really pathetic response from Google/Nest on this. I feel completely misled and wouldnt have bought 6 of these cameras if I knew their support would be so terrible. Unacceptable really.

Hey folks.
Thank you for the feedback. I am afraid I do not have control over this process, but please feel free to leave your feedback within the app. This thread is now going to be locked.
Best regards,
Brad.
