Camera activates too late

Hi , I've the nest battery cameras. When people or cars come on to my driveway the camera activates to late so the person is at my window just about before being filmed .

I've turned on the various motions and set the zone to the edge of my boundaries.

It's 12/15 meters from the pavement to my window so I'm a bit stuck ?

If your battery camera is running on battery power, then it is normally in "Idle" mode and has to wake up in order to detect and record an event. (We have a battery camera but it is plugged in with the optional power cable and we have a Nest Aware Plus subscription.)

Yeah the Google camera system is kinda garbage. I have 5 of them, and the only one that captures correctly is the one I'm using the optional plug in wire. 

 

I won't even go into the terribly late notifications, failure to load cameras, and the video playback freezing every 3 seconds... I really wanted to like the Google system, but it's all trash.

Peo1980, thanks for reaching out. I know how it feels when something isn’t working as it should. A few questions: when did it begin?  Is the issue happening with push notifications, or both email and push? Are the notifications delayed on multiple mobile devices?

 

Try to Connect the mobile device to another Wi-Fi or cellular network. Signing in to your account on another mobile device and trigger a notification to test might also help isolate this.
