I want to add a camera to a second home we have. Do I down load a sec app and build off it or can I use the app I have and just add a new camera. Two different internet services but same company.

I set up cameras using two different locations that has different WiFi. When you install each camera just use the WiFi at that location and add the cameras to your named home account.

Hi there,

I apologize for my late response and thank you for all of your patience while waiting for a reply. I definitely understand how frustrating your situation must be, and I wanted to make sure that your concern was acknowledged. I am glad to hear that you are interested in adding more cameras to another property! When it comes to having multiple homes, you will definitely need your new camera in a separate 'Home' from the one you live in. Especially if you are not actively at that address. You can learn more about multiple homes, and everything about that process via this article link.

I got the camera's set up just fine, but I cannot view them live.  I'm guessing it's a bandwidth issue because they are recording the history.  We just can't see anything live.  I have NetGear Orbi that is suppose to direct the internet to the device that it is needed at, but it's not working with the two new 2nd generation cameras.  I have another camera yet to set up on the other side of our property and we can't get the camera to let us view it live to adjust the position.  It keeps dropping the video and the screen goes black.

I do want to remark that I wish I had never moved over to the Google home app because, in my humble opinion, the NEST app is far superior to the Google Home app.  You can view the history easily and the pictures open larger on the screen to see what you need to view. Saving a video clip is simple and you can view your clips easily too.  I can't even find where to save the clip on Google Home!  I also think the NEST cameras are better because the wire is threaded through the post so a thief can't clip the video camera wires!  Really people, we are talking security!   Is there a way to go back to NEST?  I certainly hope so!

I am sorry to hear that you have had a poor experience thus far with your new cams! I am afraid there is no going back to Nest once you have migrated. I hope that the features in the Nest app will soon come to the Google Home app, but I do not have any confirmation. Best I can suggest is to move your internet closer to your cams or vice versa.

Best regards,

Brad.
