Cannot complete camera setup

JoeJanicek

Every time I get to the end of google home camera setup I get a message that something went wrong.  Please turn on and off airplane mode or restart and try again.  These are cameras we were previously using at our home.  We disconnected them from account and tried to add them to our cottage.  Got same message.  Brought them home.  Still get message that something went wrong and try again.

Hi @JoeJanicek,

Thanks for reaching out. Sorry to hear that you're going through this with your Nest camera. Don't worry, let's work together to figure out the issue you're experiencing. To help with that, I have a few questions for you:

  • What type of Nest camera do you have?
  • How far have you gotten in pairing your device?
  • What’s the color of the LED status light?
  • Are there any other devices that experience issues with the Wi-Fi?

Based on the information you provided, it seems your Nest camera might have been previously set up.  To troubleshoot the pairing issue,  we may need to reset the camera to factory settings. This will erase all current settings and allow you to set up the camera again with your account.

f you have any questions or concerns in the future, feel free to reply to this post.

Cheers,

Jonathan

Hello,

I have the same issue.

To answer your questions:

-I have a nest cam (outdoor or indoor-Battery) but it's filaire

-When the app ask for a wifi, it's going well and say that it's connected but then when it's trying to finish the process, it's says that something went wrong. At this time a orange light appears and it make a sound.

-We do not have any other devices.

Thank you

Same problem trying to set up two cameras.  Gets to end of process and then says "something went wrong."

Hi folks,

Thanks for posting.

@Juliette1, based on the information you provided, the orange light likely indicates the camera isn't receiving enough power. I recommend trying a different cable or charging the camera in a different outlet.

@cdr, to assist you further, could you tell me the type of camera you have, the status light color, and any troubleshooting steps you've already tried?

Please keep me updated.

Cheers,

Jonathan
