My Nest Doorbell is wired to my doorbell transformer. Does it need to to stay connected to use a charger?

"If you’ve connected your Nest Doorbell (battery) to your existing doorbell wiring, the wires don’t directly power the doorbell. Instead, the battery is trickle charged by the power that comes through the wires, and the doorbell runs off the battery charge."

Theoretically you wouldn't have to take your doorbell off the wall and plug it in, but it depends on a variety of factors including temperature, motion events, and transformer voltage.

Due to cold mornings here (27-34 degrees) I brought the doorbell inside to charge. What type of USB cable is needed?

Didn't you get a short USB cable that came with your battery doorbell?

Unfortunately it is MIA. Should it be a a C cable?

Unfortunately, Google Nest's online technical specs for the battery doorbell don't list specs for the charging cord.
Google Nest Support: can you provide the technical specs for the charging cord for the battery doorbell?

Hi folks,
@MikeRep thanks for posting here in the community. I'm dropping by to ensure that everything is covered here. Your Nest Doorbell charging port is a type C, so it will require a type C USB cable to charge it.
I appreciate the help, MplsCustomer and MetalGlacier.
Regards,
Emerson
