Having difficulty adding Google doorbell to Nest app.  It is showing on google home however I can not add to Nest app.

If I select add new device on Nest, it brings me to google home, then what.  "+" is for a new device and it is already set up.  Just want it added to Nest app.

Nest Doorbell (battery) and Nest Doorbell (wired, 2nd gen) are setup, managed, and designed exclusively for the Google Home app. You don't need to and can't add them to the Nest app.

You can also view your doorbell online at https://home.google.com.

Hi there,

Thank you for your feedback on this, I fully understand the frustrations of not having your new Nest cams in the Nest app like you may be used too. However, you can now use the Google Home web app to view your cameras and doorbells.

The new Nest cameras and doorbell are exclusive to the home app because we wanted to create an integrated experience with your speakers and displays. A Nest Aware subscription applies to all of your cameras, speakers, and displays in the same home structure. Thank you for your continued patience, and support.

Best regards,

Brad

Hello Tom15,

I’m sorry for the trouble this has caused you. Let me help you out. If you’re using a Nest Doorbell battery or 2nd Gen Nest doorbell wired, they can only be set up and accessed through the Google Home app. Check out this link for technical specifications.

@atryk83, I'd suggest you send feedback using this link to let our team know about your concern. This is the best way to let them know about making some changes to the Google Home app.

Let me know if you have additional questions.

Best,
Edmond
