Customer Service Problem: Nest Hello Wired Doorbell Peeling After 18 Months

I'd like to first reference case 1-############2181 and case 5-############2480.

My doorbell started peeling at the 18 month of ownership mark and gets worse every day.  Chat support says there's nothing I can do since I'm not under warranty except buy a new doorbell.  I won't spend another penny on Google products if this is how you back up a product that fails after 18 months.

I've noticed numerous other customers receiving replacements outside of warranty in this forum and I'd like the same treatment.
