Hello,
I have a nest doorbell (wired second Gen) and a nest Wi-Fi mesh with 2 points. I’m using the points for “visitor announcement.” Please add the ability to customize the tone for the visitor announcement. Currently I am only able to receive the assistants voice stating “there is someone at the front door.” It would much more preferable to have chime options only so I don’t have to listen to some voice speaking to me.
thank you

When someone presses the doorbell button, your Google Home devices will make a chime sound but also say either that someone is at the door, or if you have familiar faces set up, say who is at the door. It isn't an either or. It is on or off.

Thanks Metalglacier for the reply. I’m aware thos are the only current options. My post was intended to request a change of options to allow for the removal of the verbal statement, and allow for an option of having only an audible chime.
thanks

Yeah it doesn't seem like they have any intention to change it. 😞

I assume that you do not have the "Ring Indoor Chime" option under the Doorbell Settings option? You can turn off Visitor Announcements and only use the chime, but another thing that may help, is that you can go to each device that you do not want to get the announcement on and turn off the notification for that device. For instance, I went into settings on each device (home devices) and under Settings > Notifications & Digital Wellbeing, and turned on "Do Not Disturb" for all my devices except a couple so that it would not announce all over the house.

Hi BG,
that option is in my settings, however I was never able to get my indoor mechanical chime to work properly. I don’t believe it’s a google issue. The chime hums, as if it’s over powered or as if the doorbell button is partially stuck. It’s could be a comparability issue but I tried 2 different chimes and had the same issue, so ultimately I bypassed the chime

Thanks Emerson. I wasn’t able to figure out how to do what I wanted but it sounds like there isn’t a way to keep the doorbell tone but turn off the voice announcement. We will survive 😉
thanks

I guess you tried increasing the length of the chime under settings. Try 3 secs instead of 1 second and see if that makes it work.
