Device offline because of extreme temperature

My Google Nest Doorbell (Battery) is not working. There was notifications this morning telling me that it was offline because of extreme temperature but it hasn't been cold, as such 12°C or thereabouts. I took it in to charge it up as it dropped from 100% to 77% in 4 days with very very little activity (6 events) recorded but still is saying that it is offline because of extreme temperature. I restarted it and still nothing. Was unsure which Category this should be in so just picked Streaming Issues as had to pick one.

Hi weealan,

Thanks for posting in the community! Sorry to hear that your Nest Doorbell isn't working as expected due to the extreme temperature. No worries, help is here! Here you have some troubleshooting steps:

  • Check the WiFi connection:
    • Make sure your doorbell is connected to the same Wi-Fi network as your phone or other Google Home devices.
    • You can check the Wi-Fi connection in the Google Home app.
  • Check for software updates:
    • Make sure your doorbell has the latest software. You can check for updates in the Google Home app.
  • Try resetting your doorbell:
    • You can reset your doorbell by pressing and holding the reset button on the back of the device.
  • Check the temperature:
    • While it hasn't been extremely cold, it's possible that the temperature has fluctuated enough to trigger the extreme temperature warning. You can try moving the doorbell to a warmer location and see if that helps.

Let  me know how it works.

Regards,

Axel.

Hi, the doorbell had to be sent back after trying the suggestions from Google Support. None worked and after factory reset, it wouldn't add to my Google Home app after repeated attempts.
