Hi there,
Just wanted to confirm if the nest outdoor (battery) cam be continously powered by indoor charging cable provided. I am setting the camera on the garage wall, but have power point inside the garage, before I order an outdoor cable to power the camera continuously I just wanted to ask if there was any difference in both the cables. I eventually want to take nest aware plus for 24×7 recording.
Thanks

Hello Manishdhupar.
Sorry for my late response. Thank you for all of your patience while waiting for a reply. I just wanted to make sure that your issue is addressed. To answer you plainly, yes. If your device is wired in, then it can run entirely off that and use the battery as a backup. If you are going to keep it outside long term, then I would suggest getting the outdoor cable for it. But if it is temporarily outdoors, and protected, then I am sure that is fine.
Please let me know if you need further assistance.
Best Regards,
Brad.

Hi Brad, Thanks for your response.
The Camera will be installed outdoor however, the power source will be installed inside the house, away from the weather elements. My question is around the need for an outdoor power cable if the PowerPoint is inside the house?
thanks

Hi again,
I think that should work, but the main point in the weather resistant outdoor cord would be to protect the wires and such and provide power in times of high heat or cool weather. It would be best if you had an outdoor cord, but in the end, I cannot tell you what to do. It is just suggested to use an outdoor power cable for an outdoor camera. Please let me know if you have any questions, or still need assistance on this issue.
Best Regards,
Brad.
