Doorbell automatically switching off

Nathanward

Over the past weeks our wired in doorbell has several times just switched the camera off.

It comes back on if we manually turn it on but randomly goes off again a few days later.

Anyone have any suggestions? We have a steady WiFi signal and that's been the case for over a year.

Thanks Anders, I have actually fixed it..... The geofencing has been turned on (not sure how?) so when I returned to the house it turned the camera off.

I've disabled that and it seems to have fixed the issue.

Hi @Nathanward,

Thank you for posting in the community. I understand that your Nest Doorbell (wired) is automatically turning off, which is not ideal. I'd be happy to assist you.

To better understand the reason for this, please provide the following information:

  • What is the color of the LED on the doorbell when it's off?
  • Did the Nest doorbell work correctly when it was first installed?
  • Has there been any recent power outage in the area?
  • Do you have any family members added to your account?
  • Does this happen when someone rings the doorbell or at random times?
Please keep me updated. I'll be waiting for your response.

Regards,

Anders

Hi @Nathanward,

Thank you for the update. I'm glad to know you were able to fix this by noticing the geofence feature was enabled.

Let me know if you have any more questions.

Regards,

Anders
