About 5 months ago I noticed my very expensive Nest Doorbell was looking a real mess with a peeling effect. Not wishing to doubt Google's normally excellent quality I just assumed I must have left some installation protective peelable layer in place so didn't worry and left it in place until I had the time to take a closer look. 5 months later I take a good look and realise this is no peelable protection, the whole unit itself is delaminating. Then I check the forums and find I'm one of many with this problem and weirdly every single thread on this topic appears to be locked so I cannot do a "me too"? Anyhow I have filled out the form (but heard nothing back yet) I very much expect Google to replace the unit as it is clearly a design defect and for a unit of this significant cost they need to do the right thing.

Hi @lowmtr
Do you own the Nest Hello of the Nest Doorbell? There are reported issues with the Nest Hello.
I am not sure if you still have a warranty, but if you do, please get in touch with Google Nest Support.
If you don't have a warranty and don't hear from Google, maybe getting a skin is an option?
I bought multiple skins HERE. I am not any kind of affiliate or such but maybe it is a nice workaround and you have all kind of different options.

Thanks RXshorty, I checked in my Nest subscription and it says Nest Doorbell (wired)
>If you don't have a warranty and don't hear from Google, maybe getting a skin is an option?
Thanks for this and I'll bear the skin option in mind. However my expectations are the Google will do the right thing. After all ,they are happy to take my monthly subscription for the enhanced service, they surely must expect to design product hardware that can support the revenue stream of an ongoing subscription. Sorry but £250 for a plastic doorbell that looks awful after a few months is not something I would tolerate. The plastic doorbell it replaced was looking fine after 30 years service! If Google aren't prepared to stand by their product then I'm not prepared to continue the subscription, its as simple as that.
Still waiting, nothing heard yet

Thanks Emerson, I already filled out the form (twice), I have a case id but it is stuck on last updated 3 days ago. Hope that helps

Hi lowmtr,
Uh-oh! I'm sorry to hear that. Let's see what's going on — could you share the case ID from your interaction with our support team so I can take a closer look?
Best,
Emerson

Thanks Emerson, I believe the case id is 7-6374000034078, though its showing as chromecast, which must be in error. Last status was 3 days ago. Not sure if I'm meant to be able to read status updates or not? I'm sure this id came up after I submitted the form for the second time.
