Doorbell has bad audio feedback loop

New doorbell. When I try to communicate with someone that has rung the doorbell when I am away, anytime I try to engage the microphone causes a very noticeable audio feedback loop.  Only way I can talk to someone is in short phrases, turning the mic on and off quickly before the feedback gets bad.  Is this a setting issue, a volume issue, nest mini's too close to the door, or a bug?  Everything else seems to be ok.

Hi there,

I apologize for my late response and thank you for all of your patience while waiting for a reply. I understand how frustrating your situation must be, and I would love to help however I can. Here is a link where you can go over how to troubleshoot audio issues with your Doorbell.

Best Regards,
Brad

Thank you Brad. I looked at your linked page - none of the recommendations seem to work or do not apply to this device (Nest wired doorbell).  I'm not sure why this device's software does not have a microphone or speaker level adjustment since your have it on other devices.  I think the fixed setting is either being echoed because my door is in an alcove or because there is a nest puck inside my office about 25 feet away that is somehow picking up the sound and creating the feedback loop.  Your thoughts?

Sorry to hear you didn't find that article helpful. It's a pretty standard article with some insightful information. This issue you are having was an old bug that was previously resolved. Is your app and device updated? Have you tried to restart and Factory Reset the device?

Best regards,

Brad

I'll try that next - may just need time for an update to load.  Thanks.

If you are still having issues with your Nest Cam or Nest Doorbell, I would suggest that you first start by restarting it.

Restart: Keeps all your settings, and it should reconnect to the same Wi-Fi network. This is helpful if it ever becomes frozen, has trouble reconnecting to the internet, or isn't working normally.

Best regards,

Brad
