Doorbell with peeling plastic

My Nest Hello cam is peeling like everyone else's.

It has to be a defect in manufacturing as it is out of the 2 year warranty.  Do I even try to contact google? or am I out of luck.

Also it is under a covered porch, so it doesn't get any weather directly on it, so I am assuming it is the sunlight that is causing it.
