Download Video from Doorbell Battery?

I previously had a Ring doorbell. It was so easy to download the video clips!  I cannot find any way to download video clips from my new Nest Doorbell Battery.  I had a package thief and the police came I was only able to show them the video because I couldn't download it. Where are the video stored in the cloud? Why can't they be emailed?

Hi  Nestman, try this:

Go into the Google Home app and select the doorbell.  The while looking at the live feed at the bottom select HISTORY and then FULL HISTORY.  Next find the clip you want to save. View the clip and then select DETAILS.  Finally at the upper right corner you will see the little icon for download (Down arrow with a small line under it).

Yep,,,, lots of unnecessary steps.  Welcome to the crappy (in my opinion) Google Home app.  It is not usable compared to the rather well designed NEST app.  But with these new cameras we have no choice but to use the Google Home app.

Sorry for my late response. Thank you for all of your patience while waiting for a reply. I just wanted to make sure that your issue is addressed. I am terribly sorry to hear that you have had such a hard time with this! I would love to look into this issue further and help find a solution for you. First off, I have some questions I’d like to ask you.

  • Do you still need help with this issue?

  • What troubleshooting steps have you done thus far? 

  • Have you tried to restart your device if you haven’t already?

  • If the restart didn’t work, have you tried to do a Factory Reset? This would be a last resort option, but would clear out issues and the device would essentially be ‘brand new’
