Downloading non-activity video from Google nest home app

Certainly not a streaming issue but no other option was relevant. I understand history and downloading a clip from event details but what if I want to download a clip that is not categorized as an event. A tornado went by my house and I have it captured but it is not tagged as an event. Can I download this 2 minute segment?

Unfortunately, Google Nest decided that the new Google Nest cameras and doorbells released starting in Sept. 2021 would work ONLY in the Google Home app and NOT in the Google Nest app or on the home.nest.com website, and the ability to manually edit a clip is NOT available in the Google Home app.  Some customer have posted in this forum that they've used various screen capture tools to capture the clip they want.

Not having the ability to download recorded video that isn't categorized as an activity is the Achilles heel of the Google nest platform. I need to be able to see historical footage regardless of whether or not it is tagged as an event. If any Google programmers are reading this, you should know that the inability to download any recorded data is completely stupid and is the deciding factor in me getting rid of my system for a more capable one.

@Bamajoe

Google Nest does not seem to regard the ability to download recorded video that is not flagged as an "event" as an important feature. We've had the newer battery camera for 16 months now, and it is STILL lacking the capability possessed by our older cameras and doorbells.

Hi there,

Thank you for sharing your Feature Request with us. As your request is not a current feature, it would be considered a feature request here in the forum. We’re always looking for ways to improve, and appreciate your feedback. You can send it at any time using your devices by saying, "Hey Google, send feedback," or by following the steps found here. This thread will remain open for 24 hours for any follow-up questions or concerns.

Best regards,

Brad

@Brad

Well, this IS a CURRENT feature of the OLDER Google Nest cameras and doorbells that work in the Google Nest app, but was excluded for the NEWER Google Nest cameras and doorbells that work ONLY in the Google Home app. So this is actually a request to RESTORE a feature that was removed 16 months ago.

Exactly. Why would Google take a step backwards in their latest product release? Not only do I want access in my monthly subscription to recorded videos, but I want to download and save whichever clips I deem important
