General issues with all cameras

I've had The nest doorbell camera going on a year and a half. And honestly very disappointed with a lot of the features that I wanted to call out. I have both the nest battery and the nest indoor.

  • Nest indoor camera quality is lackluster. Or something that has to be plugged in all the time you would think the quality would be better than the outdoor cameras but they are not.
  • Nest indoor camera quite often loses Wi-Fi connection. I run ubiquiti in my entire house and there's no dead spots so I don't understand why these cameras go offline and I have to reboot them to get back online.
  • Nest cam battery has better recording range when plugged in. I tried to wire most of these cameras because the range is actually increased when they are plugged in and always on recording.
  • Nest cam battery facial recognition is so bad right now. When I first got it it would recognize people's faces correctly and now I get the most random people alerts that don't even look anything like them.
  • Google home app for these cameras is extremely slow to load.
  • Nest cam doorbell even though they are hardwired in are so slow to load when I get alerts. Sometimes the person is gone before I'm able to even load the camera.
  • I've asked for this feature before and it still hasn't happened but nest displays should be able to have alerts which they don't so what's the point of having a nest display and nest cameras
  • Google home automations do not work properly. I'm trying to set an alert when a camera detects motion to turn on a light and it does not work. Those automations have been
  • Google nest and ADT control home has terrible integration. What was the point of this?
  • Lack of lutron integration with nest cameras

And the list goes on. I don't understand why there hasn't been any good improvements to these products for year. Even eufy has better cameras than Google.

I hope things turn around but getting tired of waiting.

Hello,   I agree with you big time.  I have been waiting over 3 years for improvements and they are just trickling in.  So I keep buying the older Gen 1 cameras so I can keep using the superior NEST APP instead of the Google Home app.

Also, I would switch to EUFY right away except for one thing.  The way I like to use the system is viewing the cameras from my computer browser rather than a tiny little screen.  With EUFY you can only view the LIVE images on your computer.  There  is now way to view recorded events on the computer.   For me this is a deal breaker.

That's good to know regarding eufy cameras. The live view at home.google.com is nice.

yep, pretty much. The list could be an awful lot longer as well, lets face it. Give it a day or so and some bot from Google will come along saying they are here to help and to submit feedback which will do absolutely nothing in relation to the issues.

I dont even use the hubs now, they are pointless, just use them as a clock. The doorbell feed like you say takes forever to come on, im up and at the door before they even show the feed.
