Google Nest Cam (Battery)

I purchased a set of 3 Google Nest Cameras @ the local Costco about a year ago along with a subscription to Nest Aware.

They are installed and have operated well until about two weeks ago.

The craziest thing began to occur:

The cameras are NOT recording events after dark. YES, events are occurring and when viewing live night video the picture is fine. I have not changed the settings. The settings worked just fine. Infared is on AUTO.

And YES to strong WIFI signal. And NO to alien spacecraft radio interference.

I have restarted the cameras and to no avail.

If someone has had the same issue (I'm sure there are) please chime in if there is a fix.
If these can't record night time events any more they are absolutely worthless.

@dwinick

We've had a battery camera, plugged in, for 22 months. It records at night--as it should--but it has rarely flagged an event that occurs at night.

I’ll add another detail:

The cameras recorded night events before ceasing to. There are night events almost every night from one of the cameras.

Thanks for the space craft chuckle.... I have seen another person on here who i think had the same or similar issue ill look back and if i can find the post ill try lead you to it somehow... It was unusual and strangely enough i think they may have got it to work again somehow

I reset the cameras as per google instructions and last night tested each to see if they recorded in infared mode. They did. SO, this may be solved.

Ok thanks. Mine still dont work

If you haven’t already, remove cameras, plug into charger. Press reset button for 10 secs. Reinstall. That solved the issue. They have been recording at night since.

Hi folks,

@dwinick, I'm glad that everything has been sorted out, and I appreciate the gesture.

@Anonymous, are you using the Nest app or the Google Home app? If you have the Nest app, go into view a camera and click the gear icon. Make sure you the settings for Home/Away and Schedule are both set to Off.

I appreciate your help, @MplsCustomer

Best,

Zoe
