Hello All,
Through this setup, I was using applications from Google Play for Android 12 on a Samsung Galaxy S20 (Google Home app and Nest app).
I got a Google Nest cam, and I wanted to use the Nest app on PC to access the camera.
On the article https://support.google.com/googlenest/answer/9241220?hl=en#zippy=%2Cmanage-your-nest-products,it is advised that in order to access the camera on Nest on PC, it is required to had previously set up the device on the Nest app.
When trying to set up the camera on the Nest app, I get stuck at "Add product". See below screen capture:
Clicking on "Download Google Home app", takes me to Google Play store, where; as I have the Google Home app already installed on my mobile, the only option is to "Open" the application, but I can get no acknowledgement on/from the Nest app that this action has been taken.
(N.B.: I have tried several combinations of uninstalling apps and the camera, and setting up again, including setups with and without the Google Home app installed on my phone, e.g following the prompt on the Nest app to download the Google Home app, which takes me to "Install" and then to "Open")
any help?

Unfortunately, if your camera is one of the new Google Nest cameras or doorbells introduced starting in the fall of 2021, then it works ONLY in the Google Home app and NOT in the Google Nest app OR on the home.nest.com website accessible from your PC. (We discovered this the hard way when we bought a Google Nest Camera [Battery] in Sept. 2022.)
Google Nest's VP and GM posted this rationale for this approach for the new Google Nest cameras back in Sept. 2022:

Hi there,
Thanks for reaching out. I'm afraid this feature is not available for the new Nest Cameras that can only be installed in the Google Home app.
We understand that these features will be helpful to you and we appreciate you sharing your thoughts with us. I'll pass this along to the appropriate team. Let me know if I can assist with anything else, otherwise I’ll be locking this thread after 24 hours.
Regards,
Steve
