Google Nest Doorbell

I successfully installed the Google Nest Doorbell, and got it working with our Google Hubs and my cellphone (Samsung S23+).

I can't synch it with my wife's cellphone (Samsung S9), because it asks for a code that's on the already-installed doorbell.

But what I really want to know is: Is there a way to turn off the microphone so that we don't hear everything that's happening in the street, but have it turn on when someone rings the bell, or approaches the front door?

Thank you.

You do NOT "sync" your doorbell to your wife's phone or install it on her phone. Rather, you invite your wife to join your Google Nest "household" (https://support.google.com/googlenest/answer/9155535). The other person has to have a Google (gmail) Account. Then they accept the invitation and log onto the Google Home app with their Google Account, and they have access to all the devices in your Google Nest "home/structure".

When you are live-streaming your doorbell in the Google Home app, there is no way to turn off the sound, but if you're live-streaming it on your computer or laptop on the home.google.com website, there is an icon allowing you to turn the sound off.
