Google Nest battery doorbell doesn't work with Nest app? Still?

I guess I'm at fault for assuming the Google Nest doorbell would work with the Google Nest app...?

I have a wired Google Nest doorbell at my side door (the main entrance, due to funky house layout), and a Google Nest outdoor cam watching my driveway.  I picked up another Google Nest doorbell, the new battery one, for my front door and once I get it installed I find out that it isn't visible in the Nest app... So I've got the Nest app for two cameras, and I have to go into Google Home to see the other one.  That's ridiculous.  I look out here to see what I'm doing wrong and find out it's apparently by design and people have been complaining about it for over a year.  Is this going to be fixed or are we just stuck with this?

We bought a Google Nest Camera (Battery) in early Sept. 2021 and have been waiting ever since for Google Nest to bring it into the same app as our other cameras and provide it with the same capabilities as our older cameras.

From everything I have read , the nest app will eventually be discontinued, and everything will be in the Google home app.  When will this happen?  Why?  Nobody knows sadly!

It’ll be a sad day when/if the Nest app is disco’d. So much better than the Google Home app.

Look if they can bring the functionality of the nest app into Google home, I have no issue with it, in fact would be better if everything was under one app.  Saying this, they do need to add a lot to the home app to make it compare yes.

I hope you're genuinely taking in this feedback and acting upon it.  I uninstalled the Nest app and tried to just use Google Home for my cameras, but it's garbage.  Make it work like the Nest app did and I'd be fine with monitoring the cameras in the Home app.

Is it really not possible for any Google Nest Community Specialist to give us a progress report on Google Nest Vice President Rishi Chandra's Sept. 29, 2021 commitment to "bringing the experiences and Nest devices you have come to love in the Nest app into the Home app" and "rolling out a desktop experience for the Google Home app"?  That's 10 months ago now, with no updates at all.
