Google home app - how to view feed

anu123

Is there a way to view camera feed in google home app, I mean I can click on the camera and see live feed, but to view any history, only option is to click on events, if I want to scroll using fingers it just jumps around, and almost impossible to land on a specific time, am i missing something?

May be put the Nest app feature of jumping ahead and back by 15 secs, otherwise it is very frustrating and useless.

also I don't see a way to download clips which are not events, and google camera doesn't capture all events.

@anu123

In the Google Home app, unlike the Google Nest app or on the home.nest.com for older cameras, there is no way to select and download a clip that is NOT an event.

Hi everyone,

@anu123, thanks for bringing this up. To confirm, do you have a Nest Aware subscription? In case you do, do you have the Nest Aware Plus? Looking forward to your response.

I appreciate the help, MplsCustomer.

yes I have Nest Aware Plus and pay a good amount for 60 days of history, but tragedy is that viewing history is broken 😞

Hello anu123,

Thanks for getting back to us. I understand that downloading clips that are not events is not available in the Google Home app. You may use your on screen recording default app on your phone to record your desired clip while playing your continuous video history. Since you have the Nest Aware Plus subscription, you should be able to view your 10 days of 24/7 continuous video recording on the full history.

may be that kludge can be used, if I it doesn't take eons to just endup at correct timestamp

I wish there was a feature like nest jump forward/back by 15 secs or a way to jump to exact timestamp, or alteast google had a working webapp 😞

Hey anu123,

I appreciate your response. In case you're referring to the exact date and time of the events, you may tap the calendar icon above under your Home History and set the start and end date to filter it to your desired date.

Emerson

I am not talking about date, I am talking about time e.g. if something happened at 4:15 pm at 45th sec there is no way to scroll there with phone using finger, it jumps around so usually I end up at 4:13 pm and have to watch 2 minutes of video before I can see the real event.

edit: actually I check today and looks like after a update scrolling has become more stable and I can jump to within few seconds  actually it did not resolve it, i again see same problem with moving around the history
