Google home app: unable to add nest cam wired 2nd gen

Hi,

This issue is driving me nuts.

Just bought a fresh new Nest cam wired 2nd Gen. Trying to add it in Home App.

Starting the process, camera discovered then asking me if I have a nest Account (which I don't have as it's my first nest device)

If I answer NO, I'm getting an error "deadline exceeded after xxx s etc"

If I answer YES, Nest app opens (I've just installed it in case of) and then ask me to authenticate, but as I don't have a nest account, I can't.

Looping.......

In addition, if I run the Nest app, and try to authenticate using my google account, getting an error as well telling me an error occured...

Looping again...

What is going wrong ?

Can you assist ?

Thank you !

Thank you @jhondika

I tried on nest app and nest web site using my google account and it failed

Authentication process is looping and come back again on "Sign in with google" button

Issue is on this side !

Tried with another personal account and this time it worked.

So issue is related with my personnal account on the NEST side ! How can I be assisted ?

Hi everyone,

@pebrb, thanks for reaching out to the Community. I’m sorry to hear that you’re having issues with adding the Nest Cam (wired) to the Google Home app. Let’s check it out.

To sign in to the Google Home app, the Nest account must be migrated. Let’s verify that you've migrated the account.

  1. Open the Nest app.
  2. If you're asked to sign in, select Sign in with Nest and enter the email and password associated with your Nest account.
    • If you're able to sign in with your Nest account, then your account hasn't been migrated.
  3. If you're unable to sign in with your Nest account, tap Sign in with Google.
    • If you can sign in with your Google account, then your account has been migrated.
  4. If you're already signed in, tap Settings.
    • If the "Migrate to a Google Account" option doesn't appear on the screen, then your account has been migrated.

Let me know how it goes.

I appreciate the help, jhondika.

Best,

Lance

@Lance_L thanks

I can't sign in both ways.

Get an error message when using my Google account.

I can't use the Nest way as I don't have a nest account.

Looping....

Sorry @Lance_L

I asked for a refund because I got no answer from official support.

So I'm afraid this thread is useless now.

Thank you for following up.
