Just set up my nest video doorbell but the chime is making a vibrating sound when plugged in. Doorbell is no longer ringing as well.

Try this:  Go into the GOOGLE HOME app and select the doorbell.  The selec the GEAR icon in the upper right corner and then select "DOORBELL".  Then at the bottom turn the LENGTH OF RING down to 1 second.

See if you can check the voltage on the transformer in the house for your doorbell. When we got our first Nest Hello, the chime didn't work very well until we replaced our very old 12 V transformer with a 16 V transformer. When we got our second Nest Hello, we discovered that the chime for the rear door seldom work. I'm guessing we might need a 24 V transformer with two Nest Hellos, but the doorbell unit itself rings and we get a notification on our Google Hubs, so we haven't replaced it.

The wiring has to be correct as well. This link takes you to the PDF for an installation guide from 2018 that has a wiring diagram:

Hi there,

Sorry for my late response. Thank you for all of your patience while waiting for a reply. I just wanted to make sure that your issue is addressed. I am terribly sorry to hear that you have had such a hard time with this! I would love to look into this issue further and help find a solution for you. First off, I have some questions I’d like to ask you.

  • Do you still need help with this issue?

  • What troubleshooting steps have you done thus far?

  • Have you tried to restart your device if you haven’t already?

  • If the restart didn’t work, have you tried to do a Factory Reset? This would be a last resort option, but would clear out issues and the device would essentially be ‘brand new’

Please let me know if you need further assistance.

Best Regards,

Brad.
