Home app Notifications stopping every few days

I’ve had a Nest wired indoor camera for about 3 weeks. After the first week or so, I noticed I was no longer receiving notifications. I checked the notification settings through the iOS app and iOS settings, and they were all on. I tried most of the suggestions, such as power cycling my phone and the camera itself, deleting and reinstalling the app, updating my iOS. Nothing worked except deleting the camera entirely and setting it up again. It works for 3-4 days and the same issue happens again. I have an iPhone 13 updated to iOS 15.6. All forum posts thus far have said that reinstalling the Home app solves the problem, but the issue is now chronic and very frustrating. Anyone have any suggestions?

Wow,,,, what a bummer.  Intermittent problems like this are some of the hardest to trouble shoot.  At this point I would suggest you contact google and speak with an actual Google Nest Tech.  You will most like want to answer the questions of the first tech you get but after a short bit I think you will want to ask them to escalate this to the next level up of tech support as this is not a simple user-error problem.  This is something at their end that takes a skilled person to think thru.  Here is the link to open a ticket and get to speak with a person.

After going through all the troubleshooting steps, Google agreed to send me a replacement. We’ll see if that works.

That is excellent!  Please keep us posted.  I'd love to know if this fixes the problem.  I always thought that alerts originated from the google servers and not the camera itself.

Google sent me a new camera. The issue is ongoing with the old one. Initially I failed to note that I wasn’t getting notifications because the camera stopped recognizing activity - there was no history in the app after a certain point.
