How do I stop my wired nest doorbell from notifying me when I'm at the front door?

How do I stop my wired nest doorbell from notifying me when I'm at the front door?  I know that I'm at the door so I don't need a notification.  I get so many notifications that I now disregard all of them which defeats an excellent feature.

Google Nest provides no way to do this. The "familiar faces" capability only adds the name of familiar persons to notifications and lets you know when it sees an unfamiliar face, so you can add the face to your "library".

Came to the forums for the same!

I've been sending feedback and asking that question for almost 10 years now. Pretty much ever since Google purchased Next and Dropcam became Nest Came Indoor. Promise was with the Nest Cam Outdoor in 2016 that hey are definitely going to fix the stupid issue where I get an alert that I'm in front of the camera, which I obviously know, yet I can't get an alert only when someone else (unfamiliar face) is snooping around my house.

Same in 2017 when I added a couple Nest Cam IQ. This is now super intelligent. Support, it did exist back then, was so sooo sorry that it's been 3 years and the very basic of "alert me only when an unknown person is around/inside the house" hasn't been fix.

Another round when things migrated under Google account and the horrible Home App.

Another round of promises with Assistant, as those functions really belong there, said support.

I spent hours on the phone with "Google Support" yesterday, mainly on hold, until they confirmed 101% that it's been available for quite some time, but I need to start paying again for Nest Aware for this notification to work.

Now that I tagged myself and the family I called again the illiterate people from Google Support and spend most of my Sunday doing things they requested, like - delete the Next Max Hub, reset it, re-add and re-configure it in Home app, Some features are still in the Nest App, Setup all the notifications the way they guided me. Got alerts that I'm in front of the Next Max Hub and they agreed that it's obviously stupid to be alerted about this, went on hold forever... then eventually came back to tell me that they have absolutely no Google/Next equipment and can't test anything?!?!?!? but I should rest assured that they'll send me the corrects steps within 24hrs and have confirmed that this feature has been fixed to work properly a long time ago.

Just got a generic email with random links to Google Support to try all the things that we had already tried in the past 2 days, and in the past 10 years.

What's wrong with GOOGLE?????

@Marv

We have had a Nest Aware Plus subscription for years. It does NOT give us the ability to get notifications ONLY for unfamiliar faces. We simply don't use the familiar faces function.

I'm seriously considering to dump anything and everything Google as nothing really works anymore.

Add to this illiterate people replying from their so called Support, but first deleting your question and the whole history from the email.....

Be evil is all that's left of what used to be a nice startup some 25 years ago.

Hi everyone,

I'm afraid this feature is not available. We appreciate you sharing your thoughts with us and we're always looking for ways to improve. You can send feedback. Let me know if I can assist you in anything else, otherwise I will be locking this thread in 24 hours.

Best,

Lance
