Te app only allows 180 degrees, and when mounting the camera on the side of the wall below the ceiling, it is physically impossible (without breaking the camera off the base) to rotate it 90 degrees and not have the image appear "skew". The original 1.0 Black NEST one's could do this i.e., bend 90 degrees and aline the camera lens vertical as it was able to "pop out", so no issue. Seems a design flaw in the hardware by Google on the 2.0's. All they need to please add is a 90 degree "left" or "right" option in the app and voila. Anyone solved this and can help me? Unfortunately, for this one camera I have to mount it on the wall and can't do so on the ceiling. Hence my question.

The base on our older Google Nest Indoor Camera can pivot up to 90 degrees, but I didn't know the camera lens could pop out. Unfortunately, the new Nest Cam (indoor, wired) has no such physical capability. Since it has an aspect ratio of 16:9, pivoting it 90 degrees using software would yield a tall and narrow image with an aspect ratio of 9:16, and you'd have to convince Google Nest to do it.
Maybe the Wasserstein Magnetic Wall Mount for the new Google Nest camera would help in your situation now:

Thanks MplsCustomer, that is very helpful. The aspect ratio nuance was the missing piece to the equation and now that you point that out, it makes sense. I’ll look into the magnetic mount. That could be just the solution I need.
