How to get Nest Doorbell to stream video 24/7 to Nest Hub Max without voice command?

Freethought77

I want my Nest Doorbell to stream video 24/7 to my Nest Hub Max.  I don't want to see anything else on the Nest Hub Max.  But it seems that the only way to have the doorbell stream video to the hub is to use a voice command, "Hey Google, show Front Door."  The problem is that the Nest Hub Max decides to show me something else after a while or just goes black.  Is there some routine I can create or some other method I can use so that I don't have to say anything and the Nest Doorbell simply streams video 24/7 to the Nest Hub Max?

You can also swipe down from the top on the Nest Hub Max and navigate to your doorbell and select it.   I don't know whether it will stream indefinitely, however.

Thanks!  The big question is how do I keep it on the doorbell.  It seems to want to switch back, even though I know that the doorbell is supposed to be capable of 24/7 streaming.

Hi Brad.  Thanks for asking.  I am still looking for a way to make the Google Nest Hub display the Google Nest Doorbell at my front door all the time, 24/7, without having to say anything to the hub.  Right now it just keeps going back to a home screen every so often, and I have to ask it to show the front door.  Is there some setting I can use to have it just show the front door all the time?

@Freethought77

I stumbled upon this Google Nest Help page, which says:

"To save power, the live video stream will stop automatically:

  • Live video from battery-powered Nest cameras and doorbells stops after 5 minutes.
    Live video from wired Nest cameras and doorbells stops after 12 hours."

Thanks to you both for the information.  Basically it forces the cutoff and gives you no way to change that setting.  "To save power."

This process is built in on battery-powered devices, so this isn't a setting you can change. It is capable of showing you 24/7 footage, but it will not stay on screen, as it would use far too much power to make that happen. Sorry for the inconvenience.
