I can't view Live Video on my Nest Doorbell on any device that's connected to home Wi-Fi

When trying to view the doorbell camera on any device such as my pixel 7 pro, my dads iphone 12 and my Google Nest Hub, I cannot view live footage as it just says "Live Video Unavailable". I am still able to receive notifications and the chime also works just fine. On the rare occasion that it has connected its because I have left my Google Nest Hub trying to connect for like 10 minutes until it finally does (not ideal if I'm trying to answer for a parcel or see who it is before answering the door).

This only effects devices on the local Wi-Fi as when I use data or WiFi at someone else's home, it works just fine. I tried creating a secondary 2.4Ghz network and connecting the doorbell to that but that also does not work. I have factory reset the doorbell and I have reset my router and my access point. I could really use some assistance cuz this is driving me insane, I don't understand why data works but my own Wi-Fi does not.

*Edit

Using a VPN also gets it to work when connected to home Wi-Fi

Yeah, I’m having exactly the same problem, I’m on a Google Nest mesh network and it just will not stream the live video. I tried moving the nest satellite into the front room about 2 metres from the doorbell and still nothing, I’m beginning to think it’s an iOS problem, I’m using 16.2.

Please help this is so frustrating, not to mention the $250 I’ve wasted on this piece of crap.

Hey folks,

I'm sorry for the trouble. Could you try clearing the cache, then force close the Google Home app to see if that helps? You try reinstalling the Google Home app to make sure it's up-to-date. Also, restarting the doorbell will help refresh the connection. Check out this link for additional help.

Thanks,

Archie

Hi, I did a factory reset of the doorbell and re~installed it, it’s working ok now. Occasionally live video is unavailable and it seems to go offline at night, maybe a battery saving feature?? I’m not sure yet if it’s a bug or a feature. I’m going to live with it for a few weeks and see how it goes. So far the (actual) doorbell and history video is working fine

Hi guys, I tried the factory reset and it didn't work. However, what did work was going on my router and disabling the use of ipv6 and use ipv4 instead and it all works now

Hey folks,

Thanks for sharing the steps that fixed the issue of viewing the live video of your doorbell. As we got our resolution here, I'm going to mark this thread as resolved. I'll be locking this thread if we won't hear back from you again in 24 hours. Should that happen, feel free to create a new one if you have more questions or have other concerns in the future.

Thanks for the help, Archie.

Best,

JT
