Hi,
I still use my Nest app on my Android device. Despite it being in maintenance mode, it's still cleaner, visually more appealing, shows my Nest thermostat and Nest protects, but it also still has a Nest Hello feature I'm missing in the Google Home app. Which is being able to filter events based on user defined zones.
As this camera is partly capturing the public road, filtering on 'people' or on other events gives me a lot of results I don't need to see. I'm just interest to view the events happening on my property, for which I have defined a zone. No I don't want to receive alerts, I just want to see all clips that capture motion in those zones.
The old Nest app had it for years, and I'm not switching to Google home before this feature becomes available.

I agree 100%. I'm staying with Nest App for a number of reasons.
And another reason for me is I still prefer to view the cameras from my computer browser. But Google decided when they were moving features from HOME.NEST.COM over to HOME.GOOGLE.COM that it would be a good idea to switch to a vertical scrolling timeline rather than Horizontal Scroll. I really don't prefer Vertical scrolling timelines and for that reason I stay with HOME.NEST.COM as well. AND there is no zooming on the timeline in HOME.GOOGLE.COM nor does it show motion in zones.
The migration over to these newer platform has been 4+ years and it has been painful and always fell short of my hope and expectations. Very sad.

Hi @MrSmitAB,
Thank you for posting in the community. I understand you don't want to transfer your Nest Hello doorbell to the Google Home app, as you'd like to keep the features your doorbell already has in the Nest app, like being able to filter events based on user-defined zones. I'm happy to assist you.
Since transferring your Nest Hello doorbell to the Google Home app is not mandatory, unless you've already started transferring other Nest devices, you can continue to use and interact with your Nest Hello doorbell in the Nest app for as long as you prefer.
I appreciate you sharing your thoughts about why transferring your Nest Hello doorbell might not be the best option for you. We're always looking for ways to improve, and we appreciate your feedback.
Please keep me posted.
Regards,
Anders
