Improving IP and protection

The camera series is an elegant solution that will draw many toward it just for their looks. But from a functional perspective I have to query the need for microphone holes drilled into their base, as sound waves can travel through the polymer casing quite clearly, even when obfuscated.

Unless condensation from heat on a cold day is an issue, why are the front sensors are left unnecessarily exposed ? Threading a user-replaceable toughened acrylic/glass clear lens on the front recessed perimeter should easily increase the IP rating, as well as protecting expensive components from graffiti spray from those looking to blind the camera.
