Invite to household

On the Google Home App, when I try to add someone to my household, I type in the first letter, then I receive suggestions and the keyboard disappears.  I can't type in the address or name of the person I want to add. 
Suggestions?

Try using the back button, that should remove the suggestions and bring the keyboard back.
