Is Nest doorbell (battery) compatible with my existing chime - wired option

RonaldH

My existing chime is "Recessed Door Chime Kit" with following info labeled:
Cat. #:18888
Input: 120VAC 60 Hz
Output: 12VDC 6mA

I would like to know if I could use my current chime wire to connect with Nest doorbell (battery) version, and it could work fine and keep charging instead of taking down every 3-4 weeks? Thank you.

This help article explains the required voltage, power and frequency. It also has guidance on the wires and wire labels inside the chime to confirm whether its compatible. Hope it helps!

Keeping the new Google Nest Doorbell (Battery) charged also depends on the weather. Google Nest finally disclosed a couple of months ago that cold weather represents a challenge:
