Last 2 days my doorbell is offline

For the last 2 days my Google Nest wired Doorbell is offline. I know the first thing the AI auto response to these complaints is going to be "check the settings, reset the doorbell, check your wifi blah bla blah". None of those things are the issue!! I repeat none of those things are the issue!!! So if you are just going to respond with the same tired methods of reset and wifi checks etc. Don't!!!! It's a waste of a response. Lets hear something original from Google for once. Like an actual cause and fix.

Here is my guess. It appears there is some kind of update going on in the background or cloud as occasionally the camera comes back online then goes offline again and back on. This happens 2 or 3 times before finally it stays on. Just like an update or data dump, with several resets. Wouldn't surprise me if Google is collecting every face that appears on my doorbell to hand over to the FBI or just to collect for it's own data mining. What do you say Google?? Care to explain this odd behavior from one of your devices? No?? Let me guess "Try these steps...."

@GenPain2U

We have the older Google Nest Hello Doorbells, and on a few rare occasions over the last 4 years when one of them has behaved oddly or went offline, we just turned off the circuit for the doorbell for about a minute and then turned it back on to restart the doorbell, and the problem resolved.

Thanks but I am one that believes if something is working properly you shouldn't have to be throwing circuits to fix it.

It's the only way to do a simple restart or reboot on Google Nest wired doorbells, since they have no on/off switch, or "reboot" option in either the Google Nest app or Google Home app. We've done it maybe 3 times on our doorbells in 4 years. The most recent was when one doorbell wouldn't come back online after an internet provider outage a couple of months ago.

In our 4 years with Google Nest cameras and doorbells, and Nest Hubs, we've had only very rare and brief offline occurrences that were NOT caused by an occasional external event like a power outage or internet provider outage.

@GenPain2U, thanks for reaching out here in the Community. We appreciate you sharing your concern here and we wanted to help you with that. To confirm, how far is your Nest Doorbell from your Wi-Fi router? When did you install it? Were you able to perform the steps that MplsCustomer has shared? In case you have an update, you know where to find us.

I appreciate the response, MplsCustomer.

Best,
