Hey Google Nest Community!
We recently shared news about expanded support in Public Preview in the Google Home app for more legacy Nest devices. We’re beginning to roll out expanded support for our final wave of Nest Cams including: Nest Hub Max, Nest Cam IQ Indoor, and Nest Cam IQ Outdoor.
If you’ve had the chance to read the news or were able to check out these updates yourself in Public Preview, we’d love to hear from you! Comment below what you’re loving, what you’re not, and especially if you’re encountering any issues.
We also encourage you to enroll in Public Preview so you can try our latest features, and provide us with feedback to help improve the Google Home app experience.
Cheers,
The Google Home & Nest Team

Until Google Nest moves to the Google Home app the numerous Nest app features (partial list here: https://support.google.com/googlenest/answer/13038234#zippy=%2Cnest-app-only-features) that are still missing from the Google Home app, there is no advantage for us to move to the beta "Public Preview" version of the Google Home app and "transfer" our 1st gen cameras and doorbells to the Google Home app. For example, we use the "Zoom and Enhance" feature on ALL of our 1st gen cameras and doorbells, and the only sound notifications available in the Google Home app are for smoke and carbon monoxide alarms.

Having been naive about the problems with migrating cameras to Google Home (I have 4 outdoor 1st gen cams mounted at "Ladder" height) I did a "test" deletion of one cam from Nest, and have since been unable to Add it to Google Home....software version 1.26, Joined Public Preview, tried resetting cam with power off for days/weeks (there is no reset button). Camera still can't be 'found' when I try to add it to Google Home (I have two new indoor "Dropcam replacements" that added to Google Home seamlessly). One month ago, prior to switching to Public Preview, I was able to scan the outdoor cam's QR code (which led to the "Add" function quitting), now, after Preview, Google Home won't even provide the prompt to scan the QR. How are the thousands of new homeowners taking over pre-existing Mounted legacy outdoor cameras getting them in Google Home? Since my wifi settings haven't changes, could the issue be one of the cam recognizing the SSID or password associated when it was previously installed in Nest?

We are NOT using the beta "Public Preview" version of the Google Home app. However, 1st gen cameras and doorbells cannot be added directly to the Google Home app. Rather, the process is to perform a "transfer" from the Google Nest app to the Google Home app, a feature that is only available in the beta "Public Preview" version of the Google Home app. This is explained in this post:

I transferred my Nest IQ Outdoor camera to Google home and subsequently it went offline. I've done a factory reset and the Home app will not add it to my account. It gets through the WIFI setup but then times out in the last setting up step. Camera is stuck with blue light.

I want to migrate my 4 NESTCAM IQ indoor cameras and 1 outdoor but it doesn't give me the option to do it either in the Nest app (latest version) or in the Google Home app (latest version). I have second-generation Nest aware plus and the preview version of the Google Home app. Is there any way to force the option to migrate the cameras to appear?

You have to be on the beta "Public Preview" version of the Google Home app:
https://support.google.com/googlenest/answer/12494697?hl=en#zippy=%2Chow-to-join-public-preview
We are NOT on this version because the Google Home app still lacks MANY Nest app functions:

I'm in the beta Public Preview" version of Google Home but I don't see the option to migrate the cameras into Google Home in either the Nest app or the Google Home app

We are NOT on the "Public Preview" version, so I don't know how it works, but it seems you have to wait until Google Nest invites you (via a "prompt") to "transfer" a camera:
"If you’re already enrolled in the Public Preview and you own a Nest Cam Outdoor, you’ll see a prompt in the Favorites Tab with instructions when you’re able to transfer your camera from the Nest app to the Public Preview. We’ll gradually ramp up access for Nest Cam Outdoor users over a couple of weeks, so be on the lookout for the prompt."
"If you’re already enrolled in Public Preview and you own a first generation wired Nest Doorbell, you’ll see prompts in both the Nest app and in the Google Home app under the Favorites Tab with instructions when you’re able to transfer your Nest Doorbell from the Nest app to Public Preview. Additionally, you can also transfer your device under the Settings Tab. We’ll gradually ramp up access for first generation Nest Doorbell users over a couple of weeks, so be on the lookout for the prompt."
