Loop on Nest cam set up

I've just purchased a Google Nest Cam (wire 2º generation) and trying to install it in my Nest App. When adding a device on the Nest app on my Apple phone, i add a product, scan my QR code and it tells me that I need to use the  Google Home app to configure, with a button to take me to Google Home. I click the button, got to Google Home app, then configure and come back to nest app with no response. Just 2 options, a X to close or just Scan the QR code, and the journey starts again!. I found a closed thread where the issue were solved just updating the Google Home App (on android) but seems dont work on Apple device. Any ideas welcome! Thanks

@Churumix

You have discovered what we discovered when we bought a Google Nest Camera (Battery) in Sept. 2021. Many other Google Nest customers have also discovered that the new Google Nest cameras and doorbells released starting in 2021 work ONLY in the Google Home app and NOT--astonishingly--in the Google Nest app OR on the home.nest.com web page, and while our older Google Nest cameras and doorbells can be viewed in the Google Home app, notifications and administration occurs only in the Google Nest app.

So we are all stuck with having to use 2 apps to use our Google Nest cameras and doorbells.

On Sept. 29, 2021, Google Nest's Vice President and General Manager posted this explanation for this 2-app approach--along with customer reactions:

Really thanks for the explanation. As you said, amazing...

I´m also surprised that i can´t set up to receive push notifications only with uknown faces. So i have to choose between:

1.-Receiving +50 notifications a day (when my daughters are by) or

2.- Deactivate and not receive any

Is it so? or i am missing something.

Thanks!!

We don't use facial recognition, but judging from other posts in this forum, it seems to be all or none.

Hey folks,

Thank you for your feedback on this issue, I fully understand the frustrations of not having your new Nest Cams in the Nest App or available on a Google Home web app. I can imagine having to use two different apps at the moment is quite daunting, and could lead to frustration.

However, the new Nest cameras and doorbells are exclusive to the Home app because we wanted to create an integrated experience with your speakers and displays. A Nest Aware subscription applies to all of your cameras, speakers, and displays in the same home structure. Thank you for your continued patience, and support.

Best regards,

Brad
