Hi Thomas4,

Thanks for reaching out. The Google Home app has an automatic feature that shows you how much time you have left until your battery will need to be charged, and the app will also notify you once the camera needs to charge.

To help manage your battery life, you can check this article on Save battery for Nest cameras and doorbells.

Steve

Thank you Steve. I have enabled Notifications for Critical Alerts and Other Notifications, but none showed up the last time it ran down. I'm currently at 33%, which it tells me is 1 week. It would be better if I could be warned when there's only a week left as taking it down and charging it up and replacing it and trying to make sure it's in the correct position is non trivial if it is raining. So I want sometime to plan for it. If this isn't possible, I'll have to investigate an alternative, I'm afraid. Regards, Thomas

Hi Steve,

My battery has again run down but I have had no notification of this. What is wrong with this device. Google claim I will get a warning when the battery is low but after 2 months' usage I have never received a notification. At the moment I couldn't recommend this to anyone and I now wish I had never bought from you. It fails without warning and is therefore useless!

No, it does not send you an alert, until "Doorbell Only: Very Low Battery"

Same here, my cameras stop working due to not battery left and I get no warning. I can’t seem to sort this. Any help please?

I have never seen a low battery notification either. At what threshold is supposed to alert on?

I have never received a low battery warning either. How is this configured. I can not find a setting for it...

I have the same issue no low-battery notifications and I don't see a setting for it.  Does that notification even exist?

Another user over here reporting the same issue. I used to get low battery notifications but they stopped many months ago. I just learn that it’s dead after I miss people who tried to ring the bell. I see we had a google reply to this thread early on, which did not address this bug. This is not a matter of settings, there is something not working correctly.

I have same issue. I received no notification until battery was dead. Then I got a notification. This seems to be a bug in the app

These warnings worked  fine until a month ago. I no longer receive warnings for my Nest doorbell when the battery is getting low.

I would also prefer to receive the alerts via emails. If indeed they are being sent, the notifications are possibly getting lost with all the many others I receive per day.

I have never received low battery notifications either.

Another person here (UK if it makes any difference) who has never had a low battery warning of any sort.

Should be a pretty basic part of the functionality, no?

UK here, never had a low battery notification or warning either.

Coupled with the slow response times compared to US counter parts, from someone ringing the bell to notifying our phones or nest hubs, this is one of the worst Google products I've ever purchased.

has this been addressed by google

Nope. I used to get low battery warnings for my Google Doorbell Battery, but for the last month or so (hard to be precise), no warnings. Doorbell gone flat twice.

Not sure if this corresponds with the recent major update of the Google Home App. Worked prior.

Annoying!

Thanks GBrandowood

Looking for answers regarding cameras.. Not doorbells.. but they may be similar

Google.. You there??

Same issues here in AU. No low battery notifications at all for either my doorbell or my camera. Hoping Google will come to the party with some acknowledgement of us!
