So one of the functions I found super useful with my previous webcams was that sometimes movement wouldn't be detected, or that 3 minutes wouldn't be long enough.
So manually recording things that happened, or the ability to manually record things was very useful.
Heck, sometimes I would be doing things in the yard, especially in front of my shed, and my shed security camera is actually an excellent angle for footage of me building some projects.
But I can't seem to find a way to manually record a clip using my new google cameras, and I can't find any help desk items or how to's or anything online.
I did find one person said they are recording via a screen recorder on their phone, but that kind of defeats the point of having HD cameras and most screen recorders won't record the audio being streamed from the camera at the same time.

There is no ability to manually trigger recording of an event. A Nest Aware Plus subscription provides 24/7 video history going back 10 days. However, the Google Nest Doorbell (Battery) always runs on battery power even when wired and so can only record detected events. The same is true of the Google Nest Camera (Battery) when it is not plugged in.

Hello folks,
Thanks for posting here in the community and I understand your concern about manually recording the events that happened. We’re dedicated to bringing more features to give our customers a smoother experience and we’ll take this as feedback. I'd suggest you send feedback about this using this form to let the Google Engineering team know about this. While they won't respond directly back to you, this is the best way to let them know about this.
I appreciate the help, @MplsCustomer.
Thanks,
Emerson

Just waiting at this point, I was aware that there's a bunch of new updates rolling out. So this conversation may be solved in the next few days, or it may not.

Well yesterday I was finally able to log into my cameras on home.google.com, others reported they got that on Monday was when I first saw talk on it. So I don't think we are getting features at the same time it seems.
So I've got at least one upgrade so far

The Google Home Web app was released in full, and you should be able to do a lot more than was available before. Check it out and see if it has what you're looking for.
Best regards,
Brad

There is nothing in the Google Home app or on home.google.com at present that lets us manually trigger the recording of an event. Is that a feature that is coming in the future?

Ahh, so we aren't waiting for any more features despite the staggered rollout?
