Hello,  I'm an end user like you but I think this is going on. From reading thru other threads this is how I understand what might be going on:   If you are still registered under the old NEST Aware program then you will be charged a lot more.   They really want you to migrate your NEST account over to a Google account.  You will be required to have a personal GMAIL Email-account to do this.   Have you done that yet?  I found these 2 things....

"Migrating from a Nest Account to a Google Account is optional. If you don't migrate your Nest Account, you'll remain subject to existing terms and privacy policies of Nest Labs, Inc. listed here. If there are any changes to our existing offerings available to you, we'll make sure to keep you informed."

"Google is raising the annual subscription price of its Nest Aware smart home service to $80, according to a customer service email sent out Friday. The old price was $60 a year. "This new price will go into effect on your next bill that occurs on or after November 6, 2023,"

If you do decided you want to migrate here are the instructions I found on the web...
How to migrate
  1. On your mobile device, download the latest version of the Nest app from Google Play.
  2. Check you have an eligible Google Account. If you don't have one, you'll need to create a new Google Account.
  3. Open the Nest app. ...
  4. Tap Settings. ...
  5. Tap Migrate to a Google Account.
  6. Follow the in-app instructions.

I hope this help.

I don't know if this will help, but this is the Nest Aware price list from the Google Store:
